Head teachers in Lincolnshire are demanding urgent action to address a funding crisis in the county's schools. The Lincolnshire Association of Secondary Heads is lobbying the county council and Lincolnshire Schools Forum for more money.
It says that Lincolnshire's schools received 4m less than schools in most other parts of the country this year.
Some heads are warning the funding problem means pupils are missing out unfairly.
Increased tax
The Principal of Branston Community College near Lincoln and member of LASH, Bruce Douglas, said: " Why are they not entitled to at least the level of funding that other young people are in similar counties around us?
"It means that schools can't employ the teaching and the non-teaching staff and buy the equipment they need for a modern educational system."
Lincolnshire County Council says it is aware of the problem but it is dependent on the funding it gets from the government.
It says it would have to increase council tax or take money from other budgets to make up the shortfall.
The council also says it is also lobbying the government for more money.
