Force appoints deputy constable
Richard Crompton
Richard Crompton wants to implement changes
A new deputy chief constable has been appointed for Lincolnshire.

Richard Crompton is moving from his position of assistant chief constable of Cumbria Police to take up the role.

His current force has hit the headlines recently - for introducing a controversial curfew for under 16s over Easter.

The experiment in Wigton cut crime by 75% - but the campaign group Liberty said it contravened the European Convention on Human Rights.

Chief Constable Tony Lake said: "We are delighted Richard will be joining us in the near future.

"He will bring with him considerable experience and energy."

The former deputy chief constable, Alan Goldsmith, has retired.
