Recycling centres open for longer
Six recycling centres in Lincolnshire will be open for longer this summer, in order to reach strict targets.

The county must to recycle 30% of all household waste by 2010.

Government figures show Lincolnshire currently only performs moderately well when it comes to recycling, compared to other rural counties.

Until the end of September, the waste recycling centres at Lincoln, Grantham, Skegness, Sleaford, Spalding and Bourne will be open longer.

The council said cannot afford to extend the opening times at its centres in Gainsborough, Louth, Whisby, Boston, Kirkby on Bain and Leadenham, but it is optimistic this will change in the future.
