Murder probe after two found dead
A Nottinghamshire couple found dead at their bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast died from gunshot wounds, police have said.

The bodies were found by officers at a house in Trusthorpe near Mablethorpe at around 2130 BST on Sunday.

The A52 between Mablethorpe and Trusthorpe is closed until a forensic examination of the house is completed.

A murder inquiry has been launched and post-mortem examinations are due to take place on Monday afternoon.

'Decent people'

An incident room has been set up at Mablethorpe police station and more than 50 officers have been deployed on the case.

Police said they would reveal further details only when relatives had been informed.

Neighbours said they believed the victims were an elderly couple who had lived in the village for six months.

Vic Peters said: "I just know the people because they'd just come onto the estate, about eight months ago, something like that.

"They were decent people, kept themselves to themselves."

Det Supt Graham White said: "Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or may have any information at all which they think could assist us in our inquiries, I'd be very grateful if they would contact the police with that information."
