The whale has been tied

A number of agencies are involved in trying to get the lift it out of the water.

It is thought the mammal lost its way and ended up inland.

Alison Kentuck, from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, said the whale has been floating for a couple of days.

She said: "There were concerns that it was causing a navigational hazard so it is now been secured to the shore to make sure it doesn't float off again on the next high tide."
