Funeral held for stabbed teen
Luke Walmsley's funeral
The school was closed for the day
Hundreds of people have attended the funeral of Luke Walmsley.

The schoolboy, who was 14, died after a stabbing in Birkbeck School in North Somercotes, Lincolnshire.

Large crowds lined up outside St Mary's Church in the village and Luke's school was closed for the day to allow his close friends to pay tribute to him.

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with Luke's murder.

Around 500 mourners filled the church and heard Luke's father Paul, read part of an essay his son had written.

The essay said: "Things that make life worth living are the girls, especially the fit ones.

"There are also other things, like having fun, enjoying yourself and being happy.

"Things like that make life worth living. You only get to live once so you might as well enjoy life."

Luke was laid to rest in a private ceremony in North Somercotes cemetery.
