Water compensation 'undecided'
tap water
Anglian Water says it acted properly
Anglian Water says it has not decided whether compensation will be offered to the hundreds of Lincolnshire people who were forced to boil their water for nearly a week.

The company has been investigating traces of bacteria following several burst pipes.

People living in Broklesby, Great Limber, Irby, Riby and Swallow are angry it has taken so long for the firm to fix the problem.

But a company spokeswoman, Sarah Rowland, insists Anglian Water acted properly.

She said: "It is not something we can rush through.

"We have to follow the procedures, we have to be categorically sure that everything is okay and we know that customers would appreciate that we are not prepared to take any risks."

Water in the area has now been cleared to drink.
