Seven beaches make the grade
Beach
Beaches are a favourite attraction in the county

Seven Lincolnshire beaches have been recognised for the cleanliness of their bathing water.

They have been recommended in the Marine Conservation Society's Good Beach Guide.

The beaches recommended by the Marine Conservation Society all met the stringent criteria required for clean bathing.

Beaches at Skegness, Ingoldmells South, Chapel St Leonard, Anderby and Moggs Eye near Alford, Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe were all named.

The charity's dedicated to the protection of the marine environment and its wildlife.

It says it only recommends beaches if they meet the highest European water quality standards, and are not affected by inadequately treated sewage.

The society say it is delighted that for the first time ever, it could recommend over half of Britain's bathing waters.
