Church copper thefts spark appeal
People in Rutland are being asked to help police gather more information on a series of copper thefts from churches in the region.

Details of four thefts in April have emerged where strips of copper were taken from church spires and other parts of the buildings.

Police said they believed the thefts at Seaton, Belton, Ryehall and North Luffenham were connected.

Officers asked anyone with information to contact them.

A spokesman also asked people working in the scrap metal trade to contact police if approached by anyone trying to sell copper in suspicious circumstances.
