Woman, 70, runs eighth marathon
A 70-year-old woman from Leicestershire has been raising money for a motor neurone disease charity by running in the London Marathon.

It is the eighth marathon in which Rita Gammon from Coalville has taken part. She ran the 26.2-mile event for the first time aged 54.

"I had eight months to do the training and that was when I joined the Ivanhoe runners of Ashby," she said.

"And they taught me how to do it, got me through it, and I kept going."
