Drive to stop boozing motorists
Leicestershire County Council has put up 50 signs across the county warning people not to drink and drive.

Police in the county have also warned drivers they might still be over the legal alcohol limit the morning after their celebrations.

The 50 bright yellow signs have been put up on main roads around the county.

County figures show in the past three years more than 400 injury collisions involved drivers who tested positive for alcohol or refused a breath test.

County councillor Richard Shepherd said: "The signs are yet another way to reinforce this important message and are just one element of an education campaign.

"It's all about making the roads of Leicestershire safer for everyone. If you are drinking, please don't drive."

The signs will be put up around Hinckley, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray and Market Harborough until the New Year.
