A group of 15 students with disabilities are taking part in a special induction scheme in Leicester. The group, just starting at De Montfort University (DMU), will be able to meet other students and staff and help them generally settle in.
Activities include a trip to see Leicester City take on Colchester at the Walkers Stadium, a tour of DMU's campus and a bus tour of the city.
The two-day induction takes place on Friday and Saturday.
Transition manager Jemma Day said: "Coming to university is a massive step for anyone but when you have a disability there is so much else to try and organise and sort out before you get here.
"So this gives them the time to settle in before the rest of the undergraduates arrive."
Earlier this year the BUDS (Befriending-University Disability Scheme) was launched at DMU, using student volunteers to set up activities and social events for students with disabilities.
