Leicester students may no longer have to spend summer days in stuffy lecture halls thanks to tutors making teaching material available via podcasts. By downloading lectures onto MP3 players, professors at the University of Leicester believe student learning can be made much more effective.
Professor John Fothergill makes all his lectures available online and even raps some of his text.
The podcasts are part of a wider project to research E-learning.
Gilly Salmon, Professor of E-learning at the University of Leicester said: "It's very flexible, students can use it how they wish, they can rewind and rethink all about their course through listening on a mobile device."
The scheme is being piloted in Leicester but it is hoped it will be rolled out to other universities across the country.
