Inquiry rules out 'near-miss'
Reports that a plane narrowly missed crashing on take-off at Nottingham East Midlands Airport were unfounded, an air safety investigation has decided.

Harborough MP Edward Garnier told the House of Commons three weeks ago about an alleged incident involving a freight plane which had struggled to take off.

The Civil Aviation Authority said the MP was given "inaccurate" information.

The CAA studied radar tapes and spoke to air traffic controllers during their investigation.
