Residents fight new houses plan
Residents in a Leicestershire village are holding a public meeting over an application to build houses in one of their neighbour's back gardens.

The MP for Harborough, Edward Garnier, will meet with those living around Hunters Close in Husbands Bosworth.

Many residents feel the 24 houses will overwhelm the local road and change the quiet nature of the area.

The application is currently being considered by officers at Harborough District Council.

Resident, Sue Wakefield, said: "It is going to make what was designed in the 1970s as a very open plan, spacious close.

"It is going to be extremely claustrophobic having extra houses facing onto us.

"And the access to the development is going to be directly opposite the drive of some of the other houses on quite a narrow road."
