Plans to revamp part of Leicester have suffered a setback - but council officials insist there will be no delay in completing the overall scheme. The authority ordered tonnes of granite paving from a Chinese company to put down in Gallowtree Gate.
But instead of smooth stone the delivered granite has a rough grain which did not match the order.
The firm concerned admitted it made a mistake and will replace the stone, but it will take eight more weeks to come.
However, council officials said other work would be carried out while they wait for the shipment, so the scheme will be completed by November as originally planned.
