Noise levels at a skate park in Leicestershire are to be monitored after residents complained. People living near Uplands Park have complained to Oadby and Wigston Borough Council that the skate park is creating a disturbance.
But council official Wendy Beck said the park was needed to give youngsters something to do.
Some local people also said they did not feel they had been properly consulted when the site was built.
One of the residents Tony Corbett said: "We've had lots of problems with noise from the skateboard facility.
"There's also an associated level of nuisance that we've experienced.
"We've had fires, the thing's always covered in graffiti and I've had a catapult shot through my window."
