The fire destroyed a warehouse and office block |
Thieves have stolen equipment that was being used to rebuild a major retail warehouse destroyed in a fire. The Primark warehouse in Lutterworth was devastated by a fire at Magna Park in November 2005.
Leicestershire police said burglars broke into a container with cutting equipment and stole expensive laser tools and a laptop computer.
The burglary happened on the evening of 31 January or early on the morning of 1 February, a police spokesman said.
Pc David Sharpe from Lutterworth local policing unit said: "This was quite specialised equipment and it appears the thieves knew exactly what they were looking for."
The warehouse, which opened five years ago, is owned and run by logistics company TNT, but was a dedicated unit for Primark.
