Thieves who damaged an ambulance in Leicester while paramedics were tending to a sick child have been condemned. The vehicle was targeted while paramedics attended a call at Torridon Close in Beaumont Leys.
Police said the thieves tried to take communications equipment from the ambulance but were unable to remove it.
Sgt Steve Ashman said: "This irresponsible act of reckless anti-social behaviour can put lives at risk and affect the level of cover."
The communication equipment was seriously damaged during the incident on Friday night.
It is only just back on the road after repairs.
