Homeless offered holiday lodging
A city council is urging all homeless people to take advantage of day centres and emergency hostels over the Christmas holidays.

Leicester City Council is publishing an information leaflet so anyone who is homeless can find a place to stay.

The booklet details the support and advice services available between 23 December and 3 January 2006.

It will be distributed to all day centres, city council housing offices and emergency hostels.

Councillor Andy Metcalfe, the cabinet member responsible for housing, said: "I'm sure this leaflet will help people ensure that they have a roof over their head throughout Christmas and New Year."

Pat Hobbs, service director housing management and hostels said: "Leicester has a good supply of temporary accommodation and no-one should be without somewhere to stay over Christmas and New Year."
