Police get office in village hall
A new police office has opened in a Leicestershire village hall.

The base at Broughton Astley provides a dedicated site for the local beat team so they will not have to travel to Lutterworth to complete paperwork.

It also means community support officers do not have to spend time on shift travelling to their patch.

The neighbourhood policing office was officially opened by the Leicestershire Chief Constable Matt Baggot on Friday.

It has been funded by the parish council and the Home Office.

It will not be routinely open to the public, although officers will use it for pre-arranged meetings.
