Head to leave 'failing' college
A third management reshuffle in five years at a failing school in Leicester has been "carefully planned", according to education officials.

The head teacher of New College, Alan Andres, is leaving his post after just 18 months.

His replacement will inherit a school which inspectors say is failing pupils.

But officials at the city council said the new principle is part of the change process and a ready replacement would ensure a smooth transition.

Andrew Cozens, head of education, said: "This has been carefully planned. Alan has decided not to extend his secondment but he will be with us until the end of term.

"We will be introducing the next head on Monday so there will be a transitional period and Alan's replacement will be ready for the new term."
