Pupils at a Leicestershire school can forget about taking dinner money in - after it introduced fingerprint technology instead of cash. After successful trials, the Humphrey Perkins High School in Barrow on Soar has completely adopted the new system.
It means parents put money into an account and their children pay for their meals by scanning their thumbprints into machines.
The system also helps parents keep an eye on what their children are eating.
The scanner records what the pupils order and parents can get a full report of this every month.
