City promotion plans new campaign
The Leicester Expo event - which saw Town Hall Square transformed into a beach - will return this summer.

Leicestershire Promotions is pressing ahead with the scheme despite concerns about repairing grass at the square after last year's event.

The Expo is part of Leicester Revealed, a marketing campaign which aims to transform the city's image.

The square has only been returfed in the past few weeks after spending months with large muddy areas.

Other problems included criticism over posters which claimed it was "boring" in a move to provoke discussion of the city's image.

Leicester Shire Promotions is launching the next stage of the scheme which aims to focus on looking to the future.

It will consider aspirations for the city rather than "making do with what is already there".
