Hidden cameras to target burglars
Police are installing hidden cameras in some Leicestershire homes to try to crack down on distraction burglaries.

The cameras will be placed at properties in the Market Harborough and Lutterworth area.

It follows a string of distraction burglaries in recent weeks where bogus callers talked their way into houses.

PC Graham Rolands, from Leics Police, warned distraction burglars that they ran the risk of being caught on camera and taken to court.

"If you come into Market Harborough and Lutterworth you may well be targeting one of the houses where we have this equipment," he said.

"We will catch you on camera and you will be dealt with by the courts."
