Arsenic scare allotments reopen

Allotment holders can return for the first time in a year
Allotment holders in Leicestershire are getting back to their planting this weekend for the fist time in a year after a chemical scare.

The site on Lake Terrace, Melton Mowbray, was closed after high levels of arsenic were found in the soil at the site.

The plots have become overgrown, giving extra work to the 16 allotment holders.

Melton Borough Council has spent thousands of pounds to make the site environmentally safe again.
