Arts complex to take centre stage
A 4.5m centre for excellence in performing arts is to open at Leicester's De Montfort University.

The complex will provide facilities to develop new ways of teaching dance, drama and music.

It will be based at the university's city centre campus. Project leaders hope it will show other universities how best to teach arts subjects.

It will also lead research into performance practice and is due to open in autumn 2007.

It is being funded by the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
