Fund for disabled sport training
Thousands of pounds is being used to help train disabled people as sports coaches in Leicestershire.

The county council has secured 180,000 from the European Social Fund and the Job Centre.

The project comes after 12 people qualified in basic sports coaching through a pilot scheme run by the council and Loughborough College.

The council says the courses will be tailored to people's various interests and abilities.

The project is aimed at providing role models to encourage more people to stay active.

The money will also fund a number of able-bodied people to train in sport.
