Resurfacing work plan put on hold
Controversial plans to shut Leicester's Belgrave Road to traffic for the next four weeks have been postponed.

The U-turn follows an eleventh-hour meeting between business owners and city councillors on Thursday night.

Belgrave Road, known locally as the Golden Mile, was due to shut for four weeks from Monday for resurfacing.

Officials at Leicester City Council said they will discuss the plans with local businesses further before deciding when to carry out the work.

Meanwhile, a decision is expected on Monday, when to fully open the Belgrave flyover to traffic.
