Police tackle drunken behaviour
Police in Leicester say new powers which allow them to ban people from the city centre are helping them to reduce problems with drunken behaviour.

Up to 15,000 people go out in the city on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Over the last two weekends police have been taking steps to cut down on the potential for violence at closing time.

Officers have been visiting bars, pubs and clubs looking for troublemakers, and have issued dozens of notices banning people from the area.

The operation is running in 70 towns and cities over the summer months.
