College to leave city centre site
Plans for a 17m new college in Leicester are being unveiled.

Gateway College has submitted plans to the council's planning department to move from the city centre to a new development in Rushey Mead.

The development, based in new environmentally friendly-buildings, would be funded by the college and the Learning Skills Council.

The college will work in partnership with city schools to raise standards in post-16 education.

The new buildings will include specialist facilities in science, IT, and the arts, as well as a multi-faith centre, learning resource centre and sports hall.
