Crews tackle recycling blaze
video footage of fire
Fire crews attended the scene all night
Fire crews are still at the scene of a large fire at a recycling plant in Leicester more than 20 hours after it broke out.

The fire at the newly opened Biffa plant off Beaumont Leys Lane started at 1030 BST on Sunday.

Residents were urged to close windows to keep out fumes, although they are not believed to have been harmful.

An investigation has begun, but police have said they do not believe the cause to be suspicious.

It took nearly 50 firefighters several hours to bring the flames under control, and crews have worked through the night to dampen down the area.

Road blocks were placed around the plant but the roads have since reopened.
