Residents in a village claim a pack of dogs is making a village walkway potentially dangerous. The owners of the animals, whose house is next to the path in Thrussington, Leicestershire, say their pets only threaten ramblers who threaten them.
Terry Freestone, the secretary of the village rambling association said walkers have been put off using the path which leads to Hoby and Ragdale.
Police say they are aware of the complaints about the walkway.
The owner of the dogs, Nicolette Gidley Wright, said: "If the dogs are threatened as they have been in the past, either by being kicked or with stones, I cannot guarantee that they will not defend themselves.
"But they are not dangerous dogs".
Officers say they are aware of the complaints made by some villagers and are monitoring the situation.
