Motorcyclists who continue to ride on mining land are being warned they could have their bikes confiscated. Police are taking action after complaints from residents in Ellistown and Hugglescote in Leicestershire.
Officers said the land has become an attraction for people wanting to go scrambling on their bikes.
But they warn the offenders are trespassing and may also be damaging the environment along with the noise problem causing a public nuisance.
Now officers will be targeting the site, taking details of offenders and then sending out warning letters.
More serious action, including having bikes confiscated, will then be taken against anyone caught reoffending.
