Staff at city council offices in Leicester have been told they can now put up a St George's flag, after being ordered to take it down. The flag was originally put up by staff at the Housing Depot Offices on Blackbird Road on Thursday afternoon in preparation for St George's Day.
Workers were told to take it down by managers by 1000 BST on Friday.
But after discussion with staff, the council changed its mind and agreed the flag could be reinstated.
The council said the order was given to remove the flag firstly because staff did not have permission to hoist it and secondly because Thursday was not St George's Day.
