The theatre opens again in September |
A reopening theatre is launching its programme on Monday evening. The Haymarket Theatre in Leicester will open its doors again in September 2004 after being given a 1.3m grant by the Arts Council.
It closed on a temporary basis in July after amassing debts of nearly 500,000.
The theatre's full programme is unveiled at the City Gallery, and will include events in schools and community venues around Leicestershire.
Leicester Theatre Trust Chairman Anthony Lawton said: "People have been beavering away while it's been closed to the public.
"But the theatre enterprise is open and the Haymarket building itself will be open for major productions in the autumn and at Christmas.
"The theatre's open now until the creation of the New Performing Arts centre opens in about three years time."
