Trading Standards Officers say people in Leicestershire are being targeted by "Delboy-style traders" trying to cash in on Christmas.

It follows a number of significant seizures of counterfeit goods in the county.

Three weeks ago counterfeit items valued at 500,000 were seized at a cash and carry warehouse in Leicester.

They included a large amount of fake designer clothes and perfumes.

Also discovered was a haul of fake Louis Vuitton handbags. The authentic handbags normally sell for between 200 and 250.

Trading Standards Officers say the goods are often sold on Sunday Markets and in pubs and clubs around the county.

Some traders also operate on local high streets.
