Anger at graves attack
Vandalised gravestone
Headstones were overturned
New measures are to be taken to prevent further vandalism of Muslim graves at a cemetery in Leicester.

They include the installation of three metre-high security fence.

The moves follow a meeting between the police, the city council and community leaders.

Two weeks ago, 30 muslim graves at the Saffron Hill cemetry were desecrated.

It was the second such attack in four months.

Three boys have since been arrested and released on police bail in connection with the most recent case.

The new security measures include more patrols by wardens, planting foliage to create a barrier around the graves, repairing fencing and the tall security fence.

The possibility of installing 24-hour monitored CCTV cameras is also being explored.
