Exhibition for new illuminations
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen
The designer donated his fee to charity
An exhibition charting the design and creation of a series of illuminations by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has gone on display in Blackpool.

The designer came up with the idea of six burlesque-like dancing girls for a stretch of illuminations outside Blackpool tower.

It was the first time a celebrity had designed lights for the attraction.

A total of 32 exhibits will be on show at the Solaris Centre on the South Promenade for the next two months.

Mr Llewelyn-Bowen, who donated his 3,000 fee to charity, said: ?I'm totally seduced by Blackpool's high-kicking glamour and historical reputation for giddy glitz."

The resort's illuminations finish on 4 November.
