Produce fair gets permanent site
Stallholder at last year's show
Producers from across Lancashire will gather to sell their wares
The Royal Lancashire Show is moving from its current site to Myerscough.

Organisers say the site, at Salesbury near Ribchester, was only a temporary solution and the new location will give them a permanent base.

The July fair showcases different produce from across the region, including meats, cheese and cakes.

Next year visitors will be heading to the former quarry site in Myerscough which is being developed by the Duchy of Lancaster Estate.

Plans include extending the show, promoting regional food and a better understanding of agriculture.

The Chairman of the show Gordon Roberts said: "The society is extremely pleased to be working with the Duchy and with Wyre Borough Council to get a permanent site for the show.

"It's something we've dreamed of for many years and we hope now it's come to fruition it'll be extremely successful."
