Bird watchers wade out on coast
Oystercatcher
The oystercatcher can be found on most UK coasts
Enthusiastic bird watchers will be wading out across the Lancashire coast on Saturday to see species that have migrated to the area this winter.

The party, led by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), will visit Granny's Bay at Lytham St Annes.

Hundreds of wader birds settle at the spot, which is a salt marsh and popular feeding ground on the Fylde coast.

Julie Vale, from the Ribble Discovery Centre at Lytham, said many people are surprised by the wealth of wildlife.

She said the Fylde coast is a significant part of the migration route.
