The body of a 16-year-old boy who was swept out to sea off Blackpool while trying to rescue a dog has been found, police have said. Alex Yorke's body was discovered by coastguards on Saturday afternoon near to Fleetwood Beach.
Alex and his friend, Oliver Harvey, 16, drowned as they tried to rescue a dog at sea in Blackpool on 28 May.
Lancashire Police said the discovery of the body may help the Yorke family in coming to terms with their loss.
The boys had been walking with friends along the lower promenade close to Gynn Square when the accident happened.

Oliver Harvey's body was found close to the town's promenade soon after he drowned.
Liverpool Coastguard co-ordinated a search using a Sea King rescue helicopter and lifeboats after the boys were seen struggling in the water.
Alex's parents, Garry and Wanda, said he was "an intelligent boy who loved reading and enjoyed music, particularly heavy rock music".
"He was a pupil at Collegiate High School in Blackpool where he excelled in his subjects and was hoping to be a vet," they said.
