Stolen money recovered by police
Almost 700,000 taken by a solicitor to fund his high class lifestyle has been recovered by Lancashire Police.

Philip Pressler, 52, from Darwen, pleaded guilty to 36 counts of theft when he was jailed for five years at Preston Crown Court last August.

Police in association with the Assets Recovery Agency have now recovered 690,000, or the equivalent, of proceeds taken by Pressler.

The funds were given as a gift to Pressler's wife to conceal the sum.

The confiscation order was issued at Preston Crown Court and specified that 400,000 should be paid to the Law Society which had compensated the victims of the crime.

Pressler had used some of the money to buy an apartment in Tenerife and two properties in East Lancashire.
