Farmers' blockade in milk protest

The farmers are angry at the price they are being charged for milk
Farmers with 30 vehicles have held a protest over the price they are being paid for their milk.

Fifty members of Farmers for Action blocked the entrance and exit of the Selby Place distribution centre, in Skelmersdale, at 9.20pm on Thursday.

The police had no warning of the protest, which was similar to others which have taken place across the UK.

It ended with a promise of negotiations with Asda. More talks are due to take place on Friday.

But it is thought if the negotiations do not go the way the group want, the farmers will return with more vehicles for another protest.
