Talks continue over ferry dispute

SpeedFerries operates only one vessel on the cross-channel route

Talks are continuing following the seizure of a cross-channel vessel by French officials.

The SpeedFerries ship, SpeedOne, was seized by authorites in Boulogne on Thursday over unpaid taxes and fees.

Passengers who had tickets booked with the firm have experienced six days of cancellations since the firm's only vessel was held.

Boulogne Chamber of Commerce said it was open to all solutions to resolve the dispute.

In a statement on Wednesday, SpeedFerries said: "Talks are continuing in Boulogne between SpeedFerries representatives and the Boulogne Chamber of Commerce in order to reach a resolution."

SpeedFerries was set up in 2004 as a low-cost operator and has one route between Dover and the French port.
