Tile thieves target church roofs
Police in Kent are asking residents to be vigilant after a spate of clay peg tile thefts from church roofs.

In three separate incidents, thieves took tiles from church roofs in East Sutton, Sutton Valence and Harrietsham.

Officers believe the offenders have gone unnoticed because people in the area assume they are legitimately working on the roofs.

Crime reduction officer John Grant said the thieves were being very overt in their actions.
