Sir Norman Wisdom celebrated his 90th birthday in February |
Veteran comedian Sir Norman Wisdom will be back in his home town in Kent on Friday to belatedly celebrate his 90th birthday with a local charity. He has been patron of the Whitecliffs Talking Newspaper for the Blind in Deal for five years and will be presented with a framed portrait of himself.
The event will also be the charity's way of thanking Sir Norman for all the support he has given.
The comic spent his childhood in Kent living with foster parents.
He was knighted by the Queen in 2001 and celebrated his 90th birthday on 4 February.
The Whitecliffs Talking Newspaper presents a tape of articles from the East Kent Mercury, Dover Mercury and Dover Express each week with the help of volunteer readers.
The tapes are distributed in the Dover, Deal and Sandwich areas.
