Aircraft museum's 60th birthday

Spitfires and Hurricanes were used in the Battle of Britain
The 60th anniversary of the Kent-based Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum was being celebrated on Saturday.

The museum, at Manston near Ramsgate, is a tribute to the people who fought in the Battle of Britain.

It houses restored Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft, as well as other memorabilia and exhibits including a memorial tapestry.

The anniversary celebrations included a band display and parade by air cadets from Margate.
