Police condemn lamppost vandals
Police say vandals who tampered with the electrical wires on a lamppost are lucky they were not seriously injured.

A dog got an electric shock from the lamppost in Woodland Walk, Tonbridge, Kent and its owner reported the damage to police on Monday.

"This was an incredibly stupid thing to do," said Pc John Brooker.

"It is highly likely that whoever is responsible will have burns on their hand but they are lucky their injuries are not much worse."

Pc Brooker said anyone passing by could have been badly hurt.

Police believe the vandals struck on Sunday evening and are appealing for information.

The area was cordoned off while the lamppost was repaired.
