Residents in Folkestone have claimed plans for a new 'super school' in the town need to be changed. The Folkestone Academy in Kent would be a new state school and plans include a centre of excellence for the creative arts, European culture and languages.
In proposed plans, it will replace the Channel School and will be built next to the existing site but some want it built in place of the old one.
The council said that option meant the pupils would have no school for a year.
Other objections to the plans include complaints about access and whether or not a residential home would have to be demolished.
Shepway District Council is due to meet on Tuesday night at a special cabinet meeting to discuss the plan.
The final decision is with Kent County Council as Shepway only give recommendations.
